Just curious: Ugly rescue a weird normal?

cherribomb Apr 04, 2005 08:57 PM

Ok, I posted pics of Ringo as a newly obtained rescue, about to shed, and one from 2 days ago. Hope this link works - I'm new to the forums/pics:

Of course I love him to death because of his character and he's gaining nicely but alas, Ringo is far from a beautiful leo!!

Think this is just a weird ugly normal or someone's jungle project gone wrong? He's a ravenous eater and is gaining spots with each shed more rapidly than any of my geckos -- never seen so many freckles on such a young one

He's quite dark on the best of days and has very odd colours. His bands don't go all the way accross and he's got a few circles (not spots) on him. I have no idea what his history is.

I can't get a very good photo because he's a total nut job just now -- thinks he can fly and has already gotten lost under the couch once.

Not ugly at all..... It will get nicer as it grows.... Good luck with the rescue....

I agree with Greg. He's not ugly he's cute. It'll be interesting to see what he looks like when he gets older. I actually thinks he's adorable and I'm looking for a gecko thats unique like that. I don't like anything thats the same as what everyone else has anyway so that might be why I think he's so cute.

I agree. He looks just fine to me. He's gonna be a looker when he grows up

Thanks for the input! I've gotten a motley crew of hatchling rescues lately, ranging from normal albino (?) to high yellow and I'm unsure of their genetics/parentage/backgrounds. Thanks again
