The eggs are out

crotaphytusman Apr 04, 2005 09:56 PM

She just layed her eggs this morning and all went well. they look good and I hope some are fertile, I will see in about a month or more. She had 7 fat eggs in her ( no wonder she looked so big) now she is so skinny. I have been feeding her lots of gut loaded crickets so she can replace all that lost fat and calcium. I got a hovabator today and got rid of the other set up I had. I figure with another possible clutch on the way I would have to make another incubator so I just got one that will fit plenty of stuff in it and now I have one that I can use later on down the road as I continue. Thanks again for all the help and I will post some pictures as soon as I can of the eggs and the new soon to be mom and dad (I hope).

You have been asking questions, and doing so much to prepare, making your own incubator.

Then your worry of maybe it was not JUST right,

Your a good Lizard parent for sure, thats cool ya got your hovabator, makes it a bit easier !

Your doing a great job! So did your girl

Glad it all turned out well and she FINE, nice to hear.

Thanks for the info. I will be sure to add some water as time goes on. I really have to thank everyone on this log for all the help on this. I know I have before and I am going to do it again. THANK YOU!!! You all have been a real life saver literally. Sedona, all though very skinny and very tired is doing well. Right after she pounded about four crickets to fill her gut again and fat'n up her little tail. Just another question, how many clutches do they lay. This is her second (I was out of town for a month and not expecting the first) and I have heard up to 4. I am going to be ready for another just in case but I just want to know how often will they lay 3 or 4? thanks again! Pictures will be on as soon as I am up in the morning. I know that will get PHEve all excited.

based of my very limited experience of this and last year, ivan laid a clutch and then almost immediately (like a week later)became gravid again and then she did not turn gravid again until like end of july/beginning of august. milly (RIP) finally turned orange also in august laid a clutch and then laid another in september. this year ivan has laid one clutch which was 22 days ago and so far has not shown any signs of gravidness. gertie turned orange one week after ivan and her blush has never gone away and she laid 15 days ago. basically i think that they want to make me crazy. i don't do anything to encourage breeding but just go with it if they do. you can ask me breeding questions anytime because after asking so many last year, it is my turn to answer!

your correct, 3-4 can be layed. Usually 3-4 weeks after one is layed , she will lay another, sometimes a little longer, but in that area.

She will look the part again, get hefty, eat like crazy, and dig, so you will begin to understand her patterns

WAITING FOR THE PICS !

It's almost noon, and no pics,
