hi guys-

i don't post here very often, i'm normally off in the leopard gecko forum. but i have kept FBTs for three years, and worked with them in a research setting for around 5 or so. anyways, i want to get this info out immediately, since it is terrible for me to watch my little guys die off:

my entire fire bellied-toad colony appears to be dying as a result of poisoning by butterworms. butterworms are supposed to be gret prey items with high calcium, so i fed them some i had ordered on thursday. on friday, they had vomited some up, which i thought was unusual. i work 24 hours on the weekends, in a different sity (long story), so i was gone from 5am saturday until 11pm sunday. when i came home last night, more vomited, but everyone looked fine. three were dead today (monday), four more a few moments ago. i have six left. i have raised all of these guys from embryos.

butterworms are not a very common prey item, as they are expensive and imported. please let any other keepers of FBTs know.
