Live vs. Frozen

tanmuscles Jul 10, 2003 12:17 AM

I am starting to work mice/rats into my boscs diet. From personal experience, which would you guys say is better, frozen or live (or prekilled and served right away). By frozen i mean bought in large quanities from a breeder and kept in the freezer for a while. Will this make the nutrition go down at all? Thanks

Frozen all the way.If for no other reason than convienence.Put a hundred or so in the freezer and thaw when you need them.No feeding mice, cleaning their cage or having them bite your monitor.

i agree, frozen all the way, so easy to manage and cheap, i recently bought a 50 pack of fat healthy adult mice (that was packaged like beef, on a tray vacumn sealed etc..) for 27.00 and if given the proper storage you can keep those buggers frozen for quite some time without any health worries. Since monitors generally don't care if they food is live or prekilled it seems like a no contest in doing frozen food items
