I posted a not too long ago about a crested I purchased, then realized she had a hump in her back. The hump is really not as bad as the picture makes it look.
I just got back from the vet,where I had her x-rayed. The source of the problem seems to be a lower bone density in that specific vertebrae. Vet said it looks like an injury while the gecko was still developing. Other than that vetebrae she is perfectly healthy. Bone density is fine, and the spine is straight, aside from it moving up slightly there.
Wish I had asked to keep the x-rays, but an interesting little thing I learned from them was that the gecko's skull is much denser than the rest of the body. Additionally, there are two "lumps" in the skull that are extremely dense. If you look at your crested's head, there are two "bumps", the same two that are much more prominent in gargoyles. These are the two areas of the skull that are extremely densse. Just an interesting fact.
