anything good to do in the Gulfport Mississippi area?

ill be in the gulfport mississippi area next week. Anything good to see or places to hunt around there? anything of particular intrest around there i should be aware of?

I'm from Columbia, which is near the coast so I think I might can help. Where are you driving from? The DeSoto National Forest is not far at all from Gulfport, like 10 minutes. It is in the range of the Eastern Indigo, but they are rare there. There are plenty of Eastern Diamond Backs, Pygmy rattlers, Moccasins, and copperheads, as well as Southern Hognose, grey rats, corns, and many other common colubrids. Easiest way to find things in South Mississippi is to ride the country roads.

I'm from Gulfport MS, and I would suggest visiting Magnolia State Park while you're there. I know that my brothers and I would see an occasional snake on our visits there.
