Just a few more questions!

We thought that we would get our babies today but we didn't I hope that they are okay the person that we are getting them from said that they should be here tomorrow. Anyways we got an ourdoors pin. It said that it isn't just for dogs it is also for torts and other said aminals. It is 3 feet high. It would be big enough for them for right now but we are thinking about going ahead and getting another one and hooking them together that way they will have it when they get bigger. What all should we put in there with them? They are half under a tree and half not. We got a shallow water dish and there is plenty of grass. Could any of you give me some ideas of what else should be in there with them? Thanks!

If it's a wire type portable outdoor pen, then they can
see through it and will pace and be unsettled. They need
a border they can't see through such as boards lining the
bottom perimeter. The Zoo med food - no, they need natural
foods - grasses they will eat and weeds, also you can
give them greens - dark greens.
The sand - if it's silica based it's worse than regular
sand. If it's a calcium enriched sand, there's no point
to it as they can't get calcium unless they eat it, which
has killed young torts on this forum. Use cuttlebone
to provide calcium and use a different substrate indoors,
best is Lizard Litter Kenaf Plant (no other variety, especially
no walnut shell), or you can use aspen, care fresh, even
newspaper is fine and give them a pile of timothy hay to
burrow in also.
Have you actually looked at the Sulcata Station link?

this is a 2 ft. high portable pen, but we only use it when
we go somewhere - this pic is almost a year old, he's since
outgrown the dog carrier and rides in the van in a large
feed trough.
Make sure they have shade, use a simple two sides and a roof
design, making sure the sides are straight to keep them from
climbing on it and falling off (like they can with a half log).

and he could shove that thing around even when he was much
smaller - now he can take it where he pleases. These are
very strong animals. Mine just flipped the piano bench
when I was talking to someone at the front door.

Yes it it like that. We could get something to go around the bottom. This is just until we can get them there own place built outside that has the right temp and thinhs like that. But They are just babies right now so they will only be out there at night. The guy that we are getting them from said that he feeds them kale but I want to say that I read somewhere not to give them that. I am going to go and get them some greens. Is there any other food I should get them? Furit is okay sometimes right? I read so many things and they are all different. Like someone told use nto to put them togther and then someone else said that it won't hurt them to be together right not. So all advice would be great! Thanks!
