First I want to say we are not new to this We have 2 other Uromastyx that we have rescued and brought back to a healthy happy lives. BUT they were not in near death shape when we got them either. He is a Geri Uromastyx and when we received him he was so bad that he would not have made it through the night had we not done the things that we did, which I will get to in a sec. His problems are lethargy, malnutrition, dehydration, worms. This is all that we can tell so far. When we got him home we gave him sub.Q (under the skin) shots of ringer solution 2-3cc. He has received liquid B12 orally and we have a baby food, electrolytes, and emergency-aid mixture that we have been force feeding him. Of course the basking area and tank temps are right were they should be. The main question we have is.... He has been expelling a CLEAR very thick fluid from his rear. I know they shed extra water through a clear liquid but I didn't think it was supposed to be thick. Besides in the shape he is in there is no way he could be overhydrated. Yes, we are taking him to a vet. The problem being that there are not many reptile vets around and the ones that are have never even seen a uro much less treated one. PLEASE if you know what the fluid is or have any suggestions on what else we can do to save him please let me know. If you want to e-mail me direct My e-mail is cmrinpta@aol.com
