My first litter.. April 4th, 2005... PIX

gotboids18 Apr 05, 2005 05:45 PM

I was almost sure I had done something wrong, I sold the male I used for breeding back in November... Months went by, some days she looked fat, others she looked normal... Just last week I was 100 percent sure she wasn't gravid... Yesterday morning I go into work, and I have 43 alive and well baby boas, 1 dead runt, and 13 slugs... I didn't get to see the birth, everything was out when I came into work.. But it was still a cool site to see.. The father was a first generation Salmontine produced by Basically Boas, I believe he was from their first litter.. The female was a 100 percent colombian that was 9' and 50lbs to begin with... The hypos actually look way better than I expected, don't really look anything like dad.. They have an almost white background with a pinch of pink and blood red saddles. There is 1 boa out of the whole group that doesn't look like any of them... The normals are real dark, having that argentine influence I think.. But there's a good number with some decent laddertails. Well, here they are...

DAD

MOM

LITTER PIC

SOME INDIVIDUAL
This is probly the pick hypo..

Here's a hypo, a normal, and the one I think looks different from all of them..

Thanks for your time....

I am going throught the exact same thing right now. How many times did she shed through out? and what were you temps kept at? Hopefully I will have as good an outcome as you did. Thanks Vinnie

She shed one time, she accepted food throughout the whole pregnancy.. Believe it or not, I kept her on a human heat pad with two 60w light bulbs to keep the ambient temps up... I kept the salmontine in with her for about 2 months, he was tail locked with her for a few couple day periods, I took him out after he wanted nothing to do with her for about 2 weeks... Babies popped out almost 6 months later.. I was unsure if she took after I sold the salmontine, so I kept a normal male in with her throughout the whole pregnancy, just in case... It was a very sloppy process on my part, but I definitely lucked out... I never even noticed a swell... Thanks...
