Just curious, creamsicles

Klyk Jul 10, 2003 12:58 AM

Hi all,
I googled, but I can't find the answer to this one: How do you get a creamsicle corn? One site said breed an amel corn to g. emoryi, and you get creamsicle. Another said you have to breed the offspring together and then you get 50 % creamsicle. If the second step is true, what is the phenotype of the first offspring generation, and the other 50% of the second offspring generation?

Secondly, can g. guttata be housed together with g. emoryi?

Thanks in advance

Kylk

You breed an amel corn to an emoryi. You keep a pair of their babies (F1). When the babies are grown they are then bred together. Their resulting babies (F2) are statistically 25% creamsicles and 75% normals.

The phenotype of the F1s and the F2s (that aren't amel) will look something like a corn and something like an emoryi, but be normal colored.

Yes, you could house a corn and a emoryi in the same tank, but it is generally suggested that you not house snakes together for health reasons, unless of course you are trying to breed them.
