All the work paid off....

I had told you all about my bad luck with leopards. My first one died mysteriously. Then next two an over dose by the vet.

Well I bought 3 more. The male is doing great, but the girls were only great at the beginning. One actually died at the vet from liver failure. The other female was showing the same symptons.

Well I bought lizard "Jump Start" and applied it to my finger and then to the mouth area of Ivy at least once a day for well over 2 months now. She has not eaten on her own since before Christmas. She continued to defecate and somewhat maintain weight. After a few weeks she started to drink and shed...which I knew was good.

I thought I was just keeping her alive, nothing more.

Well I was feeding one of my carpet pythons which she can now see. She saw the snake move and she stuck her tail in the air and acted like she was going to walk over there and eat my female carpet. So I thought I would try for the 100th time to see if she wanted a mealworm. She ate 9 of them as I dropped them to her. I have them in her dish, but I am not going to feed anymore tonight. I want to make sure she keeps them down.

This is the most amazing feeling that I have had in a while especially with these geckos with all the bad luck I hve had.

Just thought I would share. I know others have gone though this or are going through. Keep working at it!!!

Matt

Congratulations on a job well done Matt.

I hope she keeps up the eating and that nothing else goes wrong again!

Also, if you want her to get really fat you can use waxworms as a treat every 2 days. They're a heck of a lot softer than mealworms, and they fatten leo's up real fast.
