I read will leary's post about senate bill 1032 which is taking place in North Carolina. New York just went through this. I saw his post and I wrote a letter to the senators not only to help out Will and the other people of north carolina but to also help myself. They are going to go state by state to indroduce this bill or one just like it. untill everone's right to own the pythons we seem so fond of posting pictures of are illegal to own. It seems to me the hand writing is on the wall. Will learys post got one reply. it just seems funny to me the people this will directly effect don't seem to care. maybe I got it all wrong and if I do I am sorry

Don't think that because he did not get more than one response that no one has done anything about it. Will and other have posted info about this bill elsewhere starting a couple of weeks ago. Most of those interested, responded then. will is just trying to keep this issue in the public eye in an effort to generate even more responses from our community.
I and many other have sent letters but haven't neccesarily posted about it on here. So don't fret. Some of us have taken action.

I think the sample letters that Will has on his site are perfect...specially the one that has the link to all the children holding a Boa. I think that breeders need to be going to gov. offices and educate them...it seems childrens minds are more open then theres.

I understand that there are plenty of people doing something about it. I wasn't tring to say that no one is doing anything about this. I was just tring to do what Will is doing and getting more people (like myself). Who didn't think about the long term impact of this agenda to think about it and act. I was just hoping to get the attention of people who don't take this bill and politics of it seriously. I didn't mean to insult thoes people who are involved in this issue. My heart is in the right place. but I think key is a dialouge about this issue in a forum viewed by a lot of people

I sent letters to those addresses that Will provided. I did the same thing for the NY people. I am in FL, so no direct impact on me. Just because we don't add to the thread don't think that people are not listening and acting.

Matt

Thanks for sending the letters, did you read the entire thread or just the first post, I am well aware that there are people working on this issue. but if it makes you feel beeter I didn't mean to insult you by saying people aren't doing enough, but the only people who have written to this thread are people who have sent letters and are doing something about this issue. if you are tring to help this issue I would think it would go without saying that I was not talking about you, but I guess not.

First, I'd like to thank everyone who has sent in letters and supported our efforts to stop this legislation. Your contributions are genuinely appreciated!!!!! We can really use the help, so to those who haven't sent letters in, I would strongly encourage you to please do so. I think Chuck's point is simply that it can be discouraging to see important topics like this going unanswered. I think I've posted this on the Python Forums twice and received at best 1 response total. I guess it gives the impression that nobody cares. I know it doesn't always mean that, but it certainly can appear that way. In any case, I'm happy that people do care and are in fact taking action.

Thanks again!!!!!!!!!
