Oh, i forgot.. I have a question about feeding little mice to my CWD and basilisk.

ToR038505 Apr 06, 2005 03:02 AM

i have a supposed female CWD which I know is older than a year.
I have a Basilisk that I know is Younger than a year. I've heard that you guys have been feeding them mice? I'm not sure if that was right, i mean correct. i have no problem with it. I was just wondering because I feed my monitor mice and he chomps them down but i'm afraid that if i feed my CWD/Basilisk them they might choke or something. I'm going to take pictures tomorrow when I get home from class to show you if you think they can handle them or not. I just don't want them to choke and die on them or anything..

Well, thanks. =-)

Yu were posting earlier about egg-laying. A 1-year old CWD isn't old enough to lay eggs (or be easily sexed by appearance). You feed pinkies (small pinkies) when your dragon/basilisk's head is wide enough to accept the prey you offer. I personally think a 1-year old is a little young, but mine will not eat pinkies so my opinion may not be valid. My daughter's 4 year old female began eating them at about 14-16 mos. of age, but she is a very "petite" dragon.

My dragon ate her first pinky mouse at 11 inches long. I have never seen a water dragon choke. Anyway, I hadnt bought it for her, but my bigger dragons wouldnt take it, so I gave it a try.
