Buying ground turkey online?

todeyius Apr 06, 2005 03:59 AM

Where is a good place, or any place, to buy bulk ground turkey online. By bulk, I mean enough to feed a couple tegus for a month or two... i dont have a huge tegu farm or anything like that.

Thanks.

You know what you could do. My neighbor keeps his pair of tegus outside in a large enclosure most of the year (Florida).
He goes to butcher and parts that butcher cant sell like intestines, etc he grounds them up and he buys it for close to nothing.
Butchers throw away alot of stuff tegus like like pig ears, knoses, chiceken guts, cow intestines, etc.
Just say you dont want bones unless you want them but either way he told butcher what he needed them for guy grounds it up for him sells it by the lb but so so cheap.
Its an idea. His tegus have great shiney black creamy white color granted they get tons sunlight to .
I told him about this forum since moved down here but so far he hasnt joined.

The previous suggestion of going to a butcher is a great one. If that's not an option, or doesn't work out, you can try finding someone who sells ground turkey necks and/or ground chicken necks for dog food. Usually you can get it for a lot less than you'd pay for ground turkey in the supermarket, and it includes ground up bones, which are good for calcium intake. They usually come in frozen 2 lb chubbs. Even with the bones, they are the consistency of hamburger.
