Hey
Breeding an albino boa to an anery boa produces all DH Snow boas correct. But does it matter what kind of albino it is and does it matter if the anery is type 2 or not? Thanks in advance

Your right, with both traits being recessive the result of the offspring will all be Double Het snow. The only difference is that a lot of combinations have yet to be done with the Sharp line of albino and Type 2 Aneries.
To my knowledge there is still yet to be a blizzard boa produced *Snow produced with the type 2 Anery gene. A lot of people think that this snow will be substantially whiter and will retain the white rather then yellow out due to the increased melanin in the type 2 gene as opposed to the type 1 anery.
Still no Sharp snow
Still no sharp x type 2 snow
so there is a lot of possibilities that have yet to be produced.
All the best,

Hey
Thanks for your reply. OK heres my situation. I am buying a male albino boa and two female anry boas. So the person I buy them from, does it matter what kind of either snake I ask for? Like ANY albino and ANY anry will work, your just saying that the type 2 anry will look better,or do I have to get type 2 anry females?
I'm not saying that one will look nicer, I'm simply saying that a lot of snow combinations have yet to be born from the type two and Sharp gene pools.
Price wise Sharp albinos will be much pricier as will type two anery boas. So as far as prices you'll probably get a Kahl strain albino and type one anery. Either way the combination of any recessive albino gene to any recessive anery gene will result in the whole little being double heterozygous for snow or carrying being het for both anery and albino (double allele) breed those double het offspring back to each other and the result will on average be 1 Snow boa per 16 babies.
All the best,
Justin Higgs
