lineatus...normal coloring?

dravenxavier Apr 06, 2005 09:38 AM

Hi. I was just curious. Today we just got in a Lined Leaftail at the store I'm at, but I haven't seen pictures of one like it. Instead of the brown striping I always see, it's solid banana yellow, and the skin in semi-translucent. The only pigment seems to be tiny pinpoint specks of black here and there, and a black tongue. Any idea if this is a normal coloring? Perhaps a regional color variety? I will try to get a pic or two tonight.

Day time colors. They have a lighter coloring during the day than they do at night. Look at a piece of dried bamboo and your understand the difference.

Sounds good. I'm more used to phantasticus and sikorae, and they don't show any such dramatic color change for me.

nothing as dramatic as the color change on the lineatus, atleast in my collection.

spray it and turn the lights off for 5 or 10 minutes, it'll color up pretty quickly. mine always show the best coloration in the shower.
