Meal and super worms do not "chew through the stomach" of healthy, living animals. But, as soon as I say this, I'm sure someone will say otherwise. If you think a superworm can survive in the stomach acids of a frog, just drop one into a glass of tapwater. They drown in seconds. My biggest problem with meal/super worms is their fragile nature: if I accidentally spray any water on them they tend to die off.
I've used meal and superworms as food for a variety of lizards, turtles and frogs for about 8 yrs. No problems. Just make sure the animal is warm and well hydrated and it will be able to digest its food properly. And be careful not to feed an overly large item to a small frog. This applies to crickets or any other food. My 3-3.5" frog has had no problems with standard superworms, mealworms, crickets and nightcrawlers.
I've fed my WTF the following: nightcrawlers, crickets, mealworms, superworms, waxworms, and pillbugs. Sometimes with the waxworms I have to feed them out by hand since a waxworm is fairly inactive. I dust the food items maybe once or twice a week.
