Female Ball Python

Smuffin Apr 06, 2005 05:15 PM

I have a huge female ball python. She is really getting huge and starting to make me nervous to pick her up. Its like she is grumpy or something. Do you think she is going to lay eggs without breeding her? Just curious.. I am trying to decide if I should keep her or not. I don't want a snake that I am getting scared to handle. Will her jumpiness go away? Your help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

She can not lay eggs unless she is bred to a male. You should keep her. Her jumpiness will go away if you hold her more often. Hope This Helps Scott Glover

If you decide you want her anymore, let me know...lol. Sometimes if you handle them less, they will get used to being left alone and not like it too much when you do bother them.

I assume you didn't cycle her, but some of my females get grumpy during breeding season even without cycling.

Keep her at least till the summer and see if her disposition gets better.
