Pics of my BCC and a ? about weight gain

VJasmine Feb 07, 2003 04:13 PM

Hi, I have a 2.5 ft BCC and as you can (hopefully) see from the pics he used to be pretty underweight. I bought him from a show from an (unknown to me at the time because they seemed reputable) unreputable store LLL. He started loosing weight rapidly, and 250 dollars later, he was treated for a rare internal parisite and flagellates. I don't know how you post multiple pics yet, so please bear with me. Here's what his backbone used to look like
I don't know if by putting this url for images in my other pics will show. My question for all of you experts is how soon do boas gain tail weight? He has gained fairly good body weight as you will hopefully see from the pics, but his tail is still really bony. I am trying to get rat pups for him since I was told they have more protien and fat. It's been about 1 month of feeding him on a weekly basis, one appropriate size prey item since his medication, and he is doing well ( everyone thought he was going to die) I wish there were more of you reputable BCC breeders in the NW! I like to buy snakes in person, and there were none at my show except for LLL, and believe me, did I learn my lesson.
So if my other pics don't show, you will be seeing replys with them...sorry
Thanks!
Victoria
