Pac man

weidjd Apr 06, 2005 09:52 PM

I have both a reg 10g and a 15g critter cage with side vents. I was going to put a p-man in there. I am worried about using the 15 because of air loss will cause the tank to dry out quicker. So if I go with the 10g what watt of lamp am I looking at to use? Also what substrate would be best to use?

Thanks

The substrate I would use for a pacman are those compressed blocks of coconut husk fiber. usually sold as bed-a-beast, eco earth, and forest bed.
I use it for my pacmans cause it holds in a lot of moisture.
helping keep the humidity up.

A 10 gallon is better for a pac-man frog also if you have a screen lid you can take foil over the the of the tank and just leave a small amount uncovered to let some air in and this will help with humidity to keep it in. You want to make sure that you spray your frog daily also not with tap water but use spring water you can get a gallon really cheap (under a dollar at most places). I would line the bottom of the cage with paper towls and put moss over that. The nice thing about moss is that you can re-use it you just want to rinse it out (with spring water).

I am going to try the 15cc and just cover the whole lid because the air-vents. Also anyone have luck with the can-o-crickets and pmans eating them? Also heating uth or?
