Cage plans

l_l3lackwolf_l Apr 07, 2005 01:13 AM

Hi again
Can anyone please (if they dont mind) share some cage plans for housing a V. Albigularis? I want to start constructing a good cage now before he gets off newbornhood. Send them to sheri02985@yahoo.es or post some steps or tips or what materials i should use here...
Thanks,
Sheri

i build all my cages out of plywood and tileboard or FRP board. tileboard is much cheaper and so far is standing up to the abuse of albigularis monitors. 10 bucks a sheet compared to 28 bucks a sheet around my way.
here are some pics of the last cage i built for a pair of my banded whitethroat monitors.

here is another cage plan i like, as it saves tons of floor space and is still very funtional for banded whiththroat pairs, i am now using this to hold my males.

the stacked cage is 8ft long 4 ft deep and 32 inches high on each level with an overall height of 72" to get teh bottom level up off the concrete floor.
the stand alone cage is 8ft long 4ft deep and 4ft tall, and i have it sitting on 6" cinder blocks to get off the floor and posesible water when it rains alot.
they work great so far, i have to move the basking lights aaround a bit to accommodate each animal but the cages are simple because i only have to cut the sides, all other peices are whole sheets of plywood and tileboard.
good luck

I just build a 4X8X4 box, add some windows, a door and a whole lot of dirt.
I believe in the KISS method.
Keep
