Probably a real stupid question...

MOATI Apr 07, 2005 01:32 AM

I feel like an idiot having to ask this but it's just been so long since I've had BP's before and I just can't remember and don't know if I should be concerned.

So stop beating around the bush...right?

Ok...Dagon was brought home 1 week ago. He seemed to adapt VERY quickly so I tried feeding him last Friday and it was successful. The issue is...he hasn't gone to the bathroom yet. I know...I'm an idiot...I should remember this...but should I be concerned? If he doesn't go by feeding day (Friday) should I wait til he does before feeding?

So...when you experts are done laughing at me...please let me know if I should be concerned.

I'm no expert, and I won't laugh at you, but I know Damien, my big male ball, poops like every 8-14 days. He doesn't poop alot.
He's healthy and fine.
I wouldn't worry about Dagon. If he doesn't poop in like, a month, then I'd worry.

They sometimes can go a while without pooping, but they will always poop when they shed. Movement also helps them go, so you can always take it out and let it roam around for a while which will stimulate it to have a movement.

If it has been longer than 3 months and you can feel a blockage of some sort...then you can worry. Otherwise, just be glad you don't have to clean the cage as often. As he gets older he will go less and less often.
