my female in brumation

sledge Apr 07, 2005 02:16 PM

is awake, and has been awake evey time i have checked yesterday and today. i know that it is normal for them to do this from time to time but are there any signs or things that i should look for while she is awake? besides her weight, can you tell if the brumation is badly affecting them? sorry for being paranoid, but you know how it is.

the other two are under the center rock. they were all three under there but she came out and she hisses when i get close to her.

i also have concerns about lighting. should i be keeping the cooler lid propped open so they can get some kind of light cycle or just leave it closed for 24/7? i was thinking about making a plexiglass top for it since i have a pile of it around somewhere.

Hi Sledge, sometimes ya get a hold out, LOL one that does not want to sleep, just keep at it, unless of course you would notice her losing weight or sick.

NO do not light it, keeping it darker also makes them sleep!
