We just got our first baby veiled chameleon and he is doing great. Just curious, does anyone know why they wobble and shake so much when they walk, ours walks like a drunken sailor! Thanks!

Congrats on the new baby.
Maybe it's all the rum you're offering this little guy? Back off on the grog, eh? Yo ho ho and a bottle of bugjuice!
JK!
No, this is just their leaf mimic dance. They're supposed to be mimicking a leaf blowing in the wind. Comical when done in an enclosure. Very effective when they're in a tree outside.

Yup, my babies do that too! I noticed it was more common when I first got her, now she is outgrowing it or maybe just getting more comfortable with her surroundings. She'll do it if she is hunting her silkies or goliath worms, but when it comes to crickets, there is no shame in her game, she hangs inside the cup and chows down!!!
Congrats on the baby!! What is his name?

Yeah, they do sort of lose it as they get older. Probably b/c by that time they know they're stuck with you and pretending to hide makes no difference!
When I take Luna out in the summer to her favorite "tree" she plays "leaf" as she moves down into the branches - always with one googly eye on me - thinking "OK, maybe NOW I can get outta here! lol!
You are going to love the little guy, they are very cool, ok, a tad weird, animals

It is sooo funny to watch! Today I thought he was going to fall off the leaf he was wobbling so much. The other day he did over-indulge in too many crickets and was so fat he did fall over. He is fine though, he belongs to my son and he named him "Monkey".
congratulations, have fun with lil monkey!
