chucks seem to keep on the look out for falling flowers from bushes/ shrubs etc that are out of reach in habitat. Try tossing flowers in there without making a big ruckus. Mine almost always react to tossed flowers just like a collared/ spiney would ( he said would)after live prey. Chucks can really be aggressive to fallen petals !

Best of Luck

they do jump right on the flowers when i toss them in front of them, your trick works good! funny thing, the lttle one is reluctant to eat while im watching, i hafta sneak over to see her do it or else she usually drops whats in her mouth. the big guy could care less, if he's hungry, he's eating!lol, neat critters. how long should i wait to start taming them?... i know i should wait until the cage is built and they are settled in, but how long after that? i would think mabe once they are comfy with my hand in the cage?

I'd give them a couple of weeks,or more, before you start handling them. Just be content that they are getting used to your regular presence at this point. You are still viewed as a possible preditor, so make sure she gets plenty of quiet time to munch.

BTW, most chucks, my 2 CBs included, seem to be rather secretive eaters. If you are worried about her eating set up a webcam and spy on them after you put food in. They seem to eat more in the late afternoon.
