Anorexic White's Tree Frog

sw0rdf15h Apr 07, 2005 10:53 PM

I just bought a frog, it's about 2-3" long. All the pics I've seen are of very fat plump frogs. This guy is SUPER skinny, you can see all his bones. I plut crickets in his tank, but he's still skinny, I don't know if he's eating them. he refuses to be hand fed. What should i do, and is he unhealthy? the store guy picked him out for me because his color was especially light green, but now I've learned this may be a deficiency?

Thanks

He could have parasites. You need to get him a fecal exam to check for parasite infestation. It could be any of number of reasons why he is so thin. If he is wild caught then parasites could be the reason (though this could even be the case for a captive bred animal as well).

Either way if he is not healthy he needs to be seen by a vet qualified vet to determine the nature of this problem.
