Desert Ghost. . .? (wannabe?)

Atistaldi Apr 08, 2005 10:24 AM

Or is just me? He just looks so. .well different from what anything else I have that's 'normal'. Oh well, what's anyone else think?

The male in question is on the left with another normal on the right for comparison.

Does he/she shed clear?

and I may be toatally wrong. Desert Ghosts don't shed 100% clear like a "true" ghost. Desert GHOST is just the name given to these animals.

I think the only way to know if this animal is a Desert Ghost or not, is to breed it and prove it out yourself.

now this is just my opinion, and i am fairly new to snakes, but it looks like an old normal maybe shedding to me......but i have been know to be wrong on an occasion or two, or three.....

Well he might be old, he was given to me as a rescue to put into a good home. Except for the shedding part, he *just* shed about a day or so ago and upon close inspection of the skin it does have a little pattern to it, but not as much as my other normals. I guess breeding will tell if it's genetic. Thanks for the opinions guys and gals.

Violette, I would breed that sucker and prove it out. I actually have Desert Ghostish animal that I am working on now. She will not be able to breed til next year, but we will see.

Looks like what RDR Arctic ball python looks like, he did not prove it to be a morph yet, but think he is still working on the project. Nice Ball Python Scott Glover
