Freedom Breeder Hide Boxes

CJBianco Apr 08, 2005 02:51 PM

Okay. I ordered a few of these hide boxes (medium) the other day, and they finally arrived this morning. These things work.

I have tried nearly every hide box known to mankind, and my BPs still prefer to nest away underneath the sheets of newspaper substrate. Finally I decided to pay the extra money and buy the expensive Freedom Breeder brand hide box. Now my animals are happily snuggled away inside these new hides, and I don't expect them out anytime soon. (Which sucks because tonight is feeding night.)

If anyone is looking for a nice little hide box...I recommend the Freedom Breeder Hide Box.

Good Things,
Chris

Been meaning to get some of the large ones - but they've never been in stock until recently - how big are the snakes you are fitting into mediums?

I'm currently using the medium size for both my 600g Albino and my 1200g Normal. If everything looks good in the next few days (no newspaper burrowing) I may order a few more. Or a lot more. =)

I just wish they were made with a thicker/heavier plastic. =/

I'll keep that in mind. I've been using $2 each 4 Qrt. plastic horse water bowls from Petsmart with a hole in the side made with a Dremel tool with good succes so far.

By the way, 1700 Gram females fit in there nicely. They probably would fit up to 2500 Grams BP's.

Glad to hear you like them.

I think they make very good sense for ball pythons and many other species. I designed those babies, even own the molds, Lindy just uses me for them!!

I made the first forms out of BONDO!

I initially wanted to make something that would leave them secure and let them escape the gnawing rodents left in a cage. They work!!
