Testudo Thigh Spurs

I have several specimens of supposedly marginated tortoises which DO have rear leg thigh spurs. Does this automatically mean that that they are NOT margianteds, but Testudo graeca? Do some marginateds have thigh spurs? Is there interbreeding between marginateds and graeca which can produce this situation? Thanks in advance. -Larry Gaugler, NYC
