Hey guys- Is there any record of a redfoot being friendly to its' owner? Such as walking up to greet people, and just hanging around humans? I greatly appreciate your response. Thanks- Brooks

I don't know about records...but one of my two 10 weeks old hatchlings comes right out of her hide house when I come say
'hello' and answers to my talking with little 'quacking' sounds,
that she seems to make with her yaws.
My three year old also comes right out of her house and to the
front of her enclosure, when she sees or hears me coming and
loves to listen, when you talk to her (my 6 year old daughter
reads her stories actually...)!
So much for my own experiences...
Gaby
Thanks Gaby!- Brooks
My redfoots are incredibly responsive. My males especially will literally run (or the tortoise equvalent) to see me whenever I enter their pen. They are not necessarily looking for food either. They will hang around me for the entire time I am in the pen too. If I am doing work with the plants that are in there the redfoots will be all over me like little dogs. Also, you may notice that they LOVE having the rear of their carapace scratched.
I don't like going to the pet shop (haven't been in a year)
because they always have large redfoots and they are so
friendly and climb all over you. A herd of those would be
great!

A friend calls mine the "puppy-turtle" because he's so responsive to people (me especially).
Our redfoot came to us almost half way through his life so he's more of an old cranky man. Not as friendly as what other described here, but certainly not unfriendly. He comes to me to get his shell scratched. Whenever he's inside, he will settle underneath my legs when I'm sitting on the couch. There have been times when I forgot he was there and almost stepped on him. Never had a mean bone in his body though - never tried to bite us intentionally or ram us. Redfoots all have different personalities, but I think probably all of them are good natured towards humans. They watch us. There is certainly an element of curiosity they have about us.
