To those who use a perilite mix in lay containers...

Right now I'm using 100% vermiculite, but am up for experimentation in my lay boxes. I know that perilite alone is too rough for digging activities, but a bit of perilite mixed in breaks up the other stuff leaving it less likely to get packed down. What ratio of vermiculiteerilite does anyone use? Also, is perilite more likely to cause impaction problems on adults (everything I have is 40 grams or more)?

I've been thinking of adding the perilite maily to give me something else to do on one of the cage cleaning nights... Haven't had any problems with 100% vermiculite, but I like to fix things that aren't broken anyway... In hopes of greater efficiency and quality of course.

I use perlite in with bed-a-beast myself. I just throw in a small handfull kinda keeps things broke up.
