Man that thing looks a lot like my female Maricopa! Do you know where it was caught? Here is a pic of my girl that I took yesterday for Gregg. (Sorry about the camera strap, but she was wound up and I had to take what I could!) I have thought that the Maricopas were hypo as well. Excellent animal Jason and nice pics! I will try to take some pics of the Maricopas outside today and post more later. Take care!

SHADE TREE EXOTICS
Out of probably close to 30-40 pics today this is the best I could get and it really isn't that great. The green is so hard to get it drives me crazy. You can see the greens on her sides pretty well. What is kind of neat about her is that the first third of her belly is white and the last two thirds turn the green. She does have more green on top than what shows in the pic. Anyway I hope you guys enjoy!

your talking about on her sides, very good looking snakes Jeremy. The belly coloration sounds interesting too!
Have a good week,

You are so lucky bro, but it is good to know a nice unusual snake with some serious potential is in your hands, I can't wait to see what that snake produces. Tom Stevens
Yeah I get lucky once in a while ,but yeah its much better looking in person , its one of those snakes that dont photograph well.
Thanks Jason
Indeed it truly is. I got it from a friend that was just not really interested in it. I really like pits, and was working with a few at one time. My friend had been telling me he had this amazing looking Hypo Sonoran for over a year, and had asked me numerous times over the course of that time if I would like to have it. I reluctantly told him to send me pics. In my head I was thinking if I had a dime for every time someone told me about their super nice looking (fill in the blank) I would be rich. I guess I am just cynical that way. Anyway, he sent me a pic, and I looked at it and was not really impressed. I just thought, "ya ya whatever, it is a decent looking Sonoran Gopher." I told him next time he was over in my part of town to bring it by, and I would take it off his hands. We made plans for a drop off on 3 or 4 different occasions, and each time something would come up and cause him to cancel. I was almost glad. I did not mind at all. I just figured at least I would not have to worry about feeding another bottomless "pit". So one a few weeks ago I call him about something unrelated, and he offers me the snake again, and says he will be in town in 2 days. I said ok, and he was actually able to make it this time (he is a busy guy). When I saw the snake, I think my heart skipped a beat. My eyes almost popped out of their sockets! it was very unusual, and nothing like what I had seen in the pics. It is one of those snakes that you really do need to see in person to truly get an idea of what it actually looks like. Its sex was still unknown to my friend, so we probed it and learned it was a she, making her the Jessica Alba of Sonoran Gopher Snakes! I was kinda mad at myself, because by this time I had parted with all of my Gopher Snakes, and I would have loved to work with her. However, I had been keeping my eyes open for a nice big female Sonoran Gopher for Jason, and she definitely qualified as that and then some. So I called Jason and made arrangements to send her to him, and it was the least I could do, as Jason has been more than generous with me in the past. I too am very happy that Jason has her. If anyone is going to do something great with her, it will be Jason. He has access to so many great morphs, the possibilities are limitless. I am glad you like her Jason!
