Crix Size- Big or Small?

cloud_dog_9 Apr 09, 2005 01:10 AM

When I got my pacman a few weeks ago, I bought five average sized crix. I put them into the cage with him. The next morning there was one. I assumed he ate them. The next day I went to a bait shop to get more crix. I was glad because these were fairly big. I think he might have eaten two out of the 24 I bought. I sent my sister to a pet store to get more crix. When she came back I was upset that they were so small, but to my suprise he ate them really quick. I also got some meal worms. He's eating them too. I was wondering if when people say pacman's eat 4-6 crix a day, are the crix small or large? Today he ate a fair amount: two earthworms, 3 crix, 2 meal worms. Is this too much or too little? Tell me how to put pictures on the net and I'll show off "Thor."

I would say your pacman's eating just right. Maybe thats why he didn't eat the crix before because they were the bigger ones. Do you dust everything with vitamin supplement?

Nevemind about the earth worms. Found them crawling out of the dirt today, but I did watch him eat a least one more circket. There are four or five more in the cage that he can go to town on. He seems to eat the crix before the meal worms. I saw the pinkies, and they are the size of the crix that I had gotten from the bait shop(ain't that funny?) Oh yeah, I from the US, the southeastern region to be exact. But I do appreciate the info. I am going to go home a take a picture tonight and upload it. The only thing is he tries to "crawl" through the glass. It's kind of pathetic to see him try to that. Any ideas? Crix over here are about $.05/cricket. I can't do the math for the excahnge rate in my head(pitiful for a finance major huh?). And he doesn't bury himself as deep anymore. Anyway gotta go. Watching Anchorman with the girlfriend.

I'm not sure what to suggest about him crawling through the glass. Maybe he'll just stop given time.
I fed mine 5 mealworms and 5 crickets tonight and now he's just sitting there as though he's expecting more Crickets in the UK are about $5.65 for about 30. Everything is way more expensive over here. Averge price of a horned frog from a petshop is $75.00!!!! The other day in a local petshop I saw some Wax Tree Frogs going for $280.00!!! England is such a rip off!!
Have you figured how to upload your pics yet?

Your doing pretty good on those exchange rates. Yeah I feed Thor about ten crix yesterday, he ate about four. I guess that right in the range? He doesn't eat the meal worms. I guess he likes prey that moves. I am believing that he is a male b/c when i dig him out of his hole he swells up an croaks a bit. It's kind of funny.

Post a pic of him. I'll be feeding mine again tonight. It seems mine eats just about anything that moves, which I'm quite pleased about. I don't know if mines male/female, when I dig mine of it's hole, it'll puff up but no croaking sound is heard. maybe too early to tell...
