Lighting question..

HelloOOoOoo on this beautiful spring day!! Been a few weeks or so scince I have been here, and of coures I have a Q!! So here goes...

I have a fish tank hood light fixture that I want to use on my lizard tank, and I am wondering if I can use a "Reptisun 5.0 UVB Full SPectrum" florecent light in it...?

If the uv bulb fits the fish hood/ strip fixure you have sure, why not, just make sure you get the proper size to fit the hood.

I hope I'm understanding your question right, LOL to me I'm understanding you to mean, because it is a fish tank hood, can you put the other kind of bulb into it? YES

It is my understanding that the UV rays do not travel very far from such bulbs. This requires a high basking spot close to the light source (within a foot or so) for the lizard. These bulbs also fail to give off appropriate UVA as well and thus two sources may be needed. Set your lizard up but continue your lighting research.
