Question about egg deposition. Got 3 slugs thus far and she's due on the 13th of this month.

I noticed 2 slugs yesterday (4/8/05) at 12 noon. I checked again this morning and noticed another slug, 3 in total. She's due for the 14th of this month based on her last shed dated 03/14/05.

I spoke to OzzyBoids.com yesterday and he said that he heard of stories where females discharged slugs before laying good eggs. I haven't palpated her to see if there's anymore eggs inside her since I suck at palpating She's still in the coiled position and looks like there may be eggs in her still. She's not coiled around the slugs BTW. Her last recorded weight was 2874 grams back in February.

Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Ron

Last year I had a female lay a full sized dead (stinky) egg a week or so before her other 3 live eggs. Somehow I doubt they can change the order of the eggs (is there passing room?) but maybe if the first ones in line happen to be bad they can get rid of them.

...if they can, and Randy's probably correct in that unobstructed ones only will pass...female pythons seem to know that these early slugs are infertile and will "discard" them from their coils...very tidy female pythons are lol!!
