darkpythons666 Apr 09, 2005 02:28 PM

As pythons grow bigger and older, do they dull and become darker in appearance?

For the most part there may be some dulling of the colors in most pythons. It can just be a species thing or an individual thing. That's my take on it.

It all depends on the species. Some turn rather dull like the ringed pythons. Others turn more colorful and vivid like JCPs, and others look pretty much the same throughout their lives.

my JCP recently shed. he is brighter this time then last time. he is 6ft plus and approx 3 years old. i don't know how they get when they reach like 5-10 years old. p.s. this photo was taken through his glass tank so there are some reflections.
