I finally got a brown snake. She's a marsh brown (dekayi limnetes). I was supposed to get 2, a male and female but one died in shipping . She's in a 10 gallon tank with an eco-earth dirt mixture with patches of moss here and there, and a big rock propped up by a smaller rock so she can hide and a smalle water dish. I'm planning on getting a plant to make look cooler. She's very curious almost always out exploring. Anyways, I'm just excited that i finally have one. Oh, anyone know where i can get a male marsh brown snake? The guy i got the female from doesn't have any more.

You are the owner of a wonderful and secretive subspecies! I do not know where you could get more, but please tell me about her personality. It may sound wierd, but I have kept many brown snakes, and every one had its own personality. This was interesting, especially considering the fact that they were all from the same vacant lot. I am doing some research on the actions of individual snakes, and their characters.
I have a large gravid Northern brown right now, who is likely to give birth soon. Good luck with that wonderful little natricine!

Well like I said earlier she's very curious and inquisitive. She likes the moss better than any thing, so I put some moss under the rock so now she hides under there. I offered sluugs and can only found one (put in 3).maybe she ate maybe not. I'm hoping to get some worms soon, anyone know what kind i should get? I heard red worms are bad. Anyway i like her she's very cool.
