A couple of local pet shops had these - I've never seen them before. I'm guessing they are warty newts of the genus Paramesotriton. If anyone has any specific species information it would be much appreciated.

i think those are the japanese fire bellies where the chinese firebellies are smooth skinned with more orange/red area on the belly
No, these are warty newts (genus Paramesotriton). It's not easy to identify the various warty species, so I'm not going to try.
