Quick question:

Does anyone know who I should contact in my city to get a copy of the local ordinances governing pet ownership in the city? I'm guessing the City Clerk?

Thanks,
- Mark

You should not inquire.. ask a friend or relative who does not keep animals or plan to keep animals to inquire. Usually it is the city dept of health that runs these programs.

When you ask is a good way to find out you are in violation of some code or ordinance, they will folow up on your inquiry and cite you for anything they can.

If this sounds cynical it is because i am a little cynical about it. A lot of good people get pushed out of the hobby by these things and the underground or basement animal abusers are rarely touched..

Just my opinion....

I already did exactly as you suggested - that is, I had my sister inquire for me (she doesn't keep any pets). And I forewarned her of divulging any info.

I'm a very suspicious and cynical person as well!

Thanks much,
- Mark
