NEWT IN COMMUNITY TANK???

i have a newt from my local stream and i have a 20 gal. community tank with 10 danios and 3 friendly small catfish
and i wanted to know if i could put it in there and also do newts need to get out of the water to live ??

It depends on what species you have. Red Spoted newts, well, perhaps, but a california newt or otherwise... well the answer is no. They require a haul out area or they could drown...

Besides community tanks are never a good idea...

In most cases, the temperature requirements are too different. Your local stream is quite a bit colder than your tank I'd venture. For more newt info:
