Foul Odor to Common Snapper?

dressygal Apr 10, 2005 10:24 AM

Hello all,

My snapper(the one missing her front legs) has been going outside the last few days to get some sun and get a nice workout wandering around in the grass. She gets nice and dry and she seems to be enjoying herself.

But when I pick her up to go back inside she smells SO BAD. I know turtles can musk when they feel frightened, but this only seems to happen when she is outside. When she wanders around the house and gets dried out she does not smell.

Do snappers just naturally smell lousy or something else wrong?

Thanks.

Maybe she is musking because you picked her up and she doesn't want to go inside!?

My snapper smells when she musks, but not otherwise.
