Superworms !

mizar 21 Apr 10, 2005 11:59 AM

I buy yesterday some superworms for my collared, i try to give him one, but before that i try to crush it's "pincer" or whatever it's called but that just kill it, then my collared wont eat it until it moves. I try to wiggle it in front of him, but i swear i heard him laugh...do you think that a super can really harm a collared ? What do you do to feed those to yours ?

And they are very good at knowing how to grab them, they seem to know they bite. I watch mine grab them like they are wrestling a snake, hehehehe.

I think they enjoy the squirm and struggle , I have been feeding supers to all my lizards for over 6 years and no one has ever had any major problem getting bite.

I have gotten pinched/ or biten many times by them, little stinkers. And I have lived to tell about it, LOL

Mine seem to grab their heads first and bite down, then finish the rest.

Hey so glad he has recovered from his bruamtion!

Nice to see you

Ok, thx i'll try it, and yes he,s back as mean as before. Looking at it from a distance i'm pretty sure that he was suffering from impaction, i'm quite sure he never intend to brumate in the first place. He must be quite a strong little bugger to survive through a brumation with an impaction problem !

I give my collared one of these monster today and my collared jump on it, crush it a couple of times and all of a sudden spit it almost to the other end of his enclosure...licking his lips and looking kind of shocked...and he now he dont even go close to his food dish, lol. I guess he have been bite. Or maybe he just dont like the taste !

Annabella and Ezra, my older collared lizards, love them. I think because they are so squiggly. Cory can't seem to digest them well I think because he can't bust them with his mouth.
