I have seen many messages from people asking if they are ready for a big constrictor. The truth is that it varies not only on your experience, but on your confidence and ability to understand their emotions. Before my green anaconda the only snake I ever owned was a ball python. That may sound like a stupid and irresponsible decision, and I am not denying it, but I frequently handle him and he has never bitten me. I have owned other reptiles for over 10 years and know what to expect. The one thing I did not expect however was how expensive he is to maintain. Iguanas, Chameleons and Turtles include some of the other reptiles I have owned, but none can compare to the cost of maintaining a large constrictor. Choose wisely.
