A crazy idea but.......

Has anyone ever reused the water they defrost their mice in as water to moisten egg boxes with? I'm curious if by using water that already has a scent of rodents in it if it will create a stronger feeding response in the hatchlings. I know it sounds crazy but 've read of someone trying something similar to that before with success. I guess you really can't lable it a success until you've tried it on several clutches and establish control groups. Probably more effort than it's worth.

Russ,
That SOUNDS interesting....
Why don't you try it and let us know how it works out?
Some people think feeding response is genetic. I don't see how that can change genetics, but I can see how that could entice them to want mice.....I think?

I think you would need to worry about introducing bacteria that is in the water.........I'd be afraid to try that.......

You are right about that Chris,
I think I will just stick with what works.......I think they can be inticed to eat pinkies easy enough.
