You said you live in Montgomery right?? I've been thinking, and maybe monitors are not for me. I have had tons of sucess with other lizards, beardies, tegus, iguanas, but maybe monitors just are not my thing. If you would be willing to make the trip to Gadsden, AL, I would be more than happy to give you my sav, because I know that you are able to take much better care of her than i obviously am.

I really admire you for trying, 16 is such a fun and exciting age, I never would have had the patience then. It is very mature of you to make the decision that is best for the monitor, at your age I would have killed it trying to do it my way instead of the monitors way. There are a lot of other very fun and interesting creatures out there that aren’t as difficult or as expensive as monitors. I can tell you are an animal lover, and you have no wish to hurt the guy. Don’t think of it as giving up, think of it as postponement.

What I would rather do is come up and check out your setup and find out what the problem is and show you how to fix it.
Sit down with your folks and explain the situation about some old dude wanting to come to your house.
I know I would not be nice if some 41 year old dude came to see my teenager unannounced.

I appreciate your willingness to help me w/ the situation, but honestly i now realize that maybe im really not ready yet for a monitor, and i know without a doubt that you would take better care of her than i would. Plus i am almost positive that she has worms, I dont know how or where she got them from, but i looked in her poop that she had left in her water bowl, and saw what looked to me like a worm.
