Snowglo

serpentsplus Apr 10, 2005 10:20 PM

Hi all, to my knowledge no one has produced a snowglo boa yet. Does anyone expect to produce any this season? What does everyone expect or guess the value of one will be when they are produced? I am crossing my fingers that I get one this coming season from my hypo DH snow male to my DH snow female. My chances of producing one is 1 in 32. Let me know what you all think!

something tells me you two aren't talking about the same boa!! LOL!

- Shiloh - the 'snowglo' that is referred to here would be something on the order of a $10,000 boa... do you have any pics or info about the guy in Mass.? he may be using the name for something else. or i need to call him right away!

100%HYPO HET FOR SUNGLOW GENETICS GUARANTEED

VERY REAR HYPO 100% HET SUNGLOW 50% HET GHOST

this is how he is advertising them... perhaps i have made a mistake???

ok, that would mean he's selling Possible Hets for snoglo... which is a much different story.

that price would still be low, but within 'reasonable' limits, if it was an ugly baby!

simply because 'snoglo' is a double recessive combined with a codom (hypo), both parents would have to be hypos het albino (sunglow) and het anery (ghost) for there to be a chance of producing a snoglo... so the one boa that was het sunglow poss het ghost would be a poss het snoglo, but the one that was just het sunglow would not, since it doesn't carry the anery gene...

make sense?

lol... i'm not that ignorant...

i have been on his webpage and seen the pics of adults and babies... however his page is gone now, so i cant really point you to the source...
kind of a dead topic without the webpage...

i'd have to say dead topic. Plus, the hypo 100% het sunglow would have to have the anery gene in it also to produce a snoglo(hypo snow)not to mention the 50% het ghost would have to prove out. I thought at first you may of heard it word of mouth. Didn't know you saw it on a web site.

I have a male hypo 100% het sunglow, 50% poss het anery that was breeding a DH snow female. She is due June 16th. It seems like the days aren't going by fast enough. This is also my first batch of babies. Good luck to all. Marshall Mauro
