Skinny RETF

bootsofleather Apr 10, 2005 10:37 PM

One of my RETF's has seemed to get skinnier and skinnier since I got him. Every once in a while he looks really good, but most of the time he looks near starvation. I was just wondering if anyone had any tips to make sure that he is eating well. Seen him catch crickets, but it never seems like he hunts for very long. Thanks in advance.

Chris

Is it possible that the cage is two large or complicated and the crickets easily walk out of view? Frogs hunt on motion, so unless the cricket is in line of site, the frog won't chase it. If the frog is otherwise happy, alert and healthy, you can probably put it in a seperate, sparse container for feedings. Tong feeding is also an idea.

Have fun! If the weight loss continues, seek a vet's advice
