The one I found a few days ago on my porch had those red scales, the mottled type (not checkered) belly with a tinge of yellow, and had noticable stipeing (sp) more like a yellow rat or greenish rat and some of juvenile pattern even though it was about 4 feet long..and the nicest personality I've ever seen in younger Black rat.(younger meaning most of the ones I find are much bigger than that one)

all the ones i've caught have white in between the scales. im in upstate ny tho. i like yer pictures.. very nice quality.
