i kinda new here so i'll explain a little about myself and my crapy situation...
i'm from kansas. and no thats not the crapy part... lol... i have been breeding for the better part of 10 years... started with chemeleons and moved my way to snakes... i breed a few different snakes... my main focus is on Green Tree Pythons but i do alot with Pastels, Peruvian, and Columbians... i have over 300 snakes and most are breeders... i run a fairly large operation... and i sell all my offspring to my sponsor in Norway...
and i'm also engaged to my sponsors daughter... he sent her on too many business visits... lol
so on to my situation... i just expanded my Green Tree Python project by 49 snakes, so i had to get new cages... i use vision cages for my GTP's and Neodoshea cages for my Boas... (Neodoshea Cages are made about 45 minutes from me. and even thought they are not making cages any longer... they shill have a bunch left) so anyway... i ran out of room in my house for all these snakes, beacuse most of them are breeders i give them big cages... i only use racks for the babies and rats and mice... so a few months back i bought a building so i could keep all my snakes in it and have it all out of my house... the building is in the middle of town and i had a nice alarm system installed on it... so i have now moved them all to my building down town, and then to top it all off someone saw me moving all my snakes into the building and i showed off my collection to them and explained to them a little about the species and about 1 hour later the gal showes up with the cops saying i am putting the town in danger with my scarry snakes... so now i have to go to court and explain that my snakes are not all that dangerous and that they are in escape proof cages... otherwise i will not be able to keep the snakes inside the city limits...
what a headach...
any lawyers in the room... lol

That's just crappy

Funny thing though, I've seen you around on several forums and have assumed you to be female (Shilo), then you said you're engaged to your sponsor's daughter ect... just had to laugh, then I saw the hands in the picture

about a year ago I was outside with my blood python and my little sister was taking pics of it for her photo class. Then just only about 15 min later a cop shows up and animal control saying a neighbor called and reported a large deadly snake being loose outside. I never try to flaunt or show off my collection around the public, but the one time I quick let my lil sis take a few quick shots all hell breaks!

Did they threaten to take your animal or fine you or what? Were you in your backyard or front yard? I'm curious 'cause I'm sure something like that is gonna happen to me someday, 'cause I like to take my boas out in the back yard when the weather is good, and even though I have a very private backyard, I have seen people FREAK OUT over a baby corn snake.

It actually turned out all right... When the Cop and Animal Control showed up they understood when I explained what I was doing and that my baby Girl Roxy the 5 1/2 ft sumatran blood was sweet as an angel 8) The lady across the block that reported this from her window from behind our house showed up and was able to tell us she was in a panic b/c she didn't see us at first. She was amazed to hear my small boa and python collection and to understand that all snakes are not the way that most movies or bad news storys make them out to be.

Gather as much factual information as you possibly can to dispute any outlandish claims made by ignorant people. I suggest going to www.dogbitelaw.com and printing out the statistics on dog bite injuries, and also do a google search (I don't have any files at the moment) for statistics for exotic animals and medical cases.. (should be able to find the stats showing how few actual incidents actually occur. Don't go in blind.. Wichita banned nearly all exotics all because a dumb @$$ city council member heard that all iguanas carry salmonella and you will get it by simply touching them.. Can we say BS!)
