those are Cool looking...Im interested in seeing what they will look like in a couple sheds. I was wondering when NERD would jump into Morelia...
NERD has several pairs and are making some interesting hybrids with them, I live 10 minutes from NERD and spend alot of time there.(my wife says way too much time). They just hatched out some "Comas" a cross between a centrilian and a woma. As for their carpet I own a jungle from them. A female born in 02 and I have the picture attached. The pictures don't do her any justice her colors are amazing
No kidding,
In the late summer of '02 I sold Kevin an entire clutch of jungles. Actually, I traded him the jungles and other snakes, dwarf monitors, frillies and vield chameleons for a ball python morph. In fact, the pic I posted is the only jungle that I held back from that clutch. They were from an F2 breeding of Hamper x VPI stock that I had been working with for many years. That chance holdback jungle turned out to be among the finest that I've ever produced and I naturally had to start looking for a nice male again to pair her up with. I finally found a sweet yearling Lazik male that I purchased from Darin Bell. Damn jungles, I can't seem top get away from them (LOL)! Nice looking snake.

Kev has been hybridizing for fun for years. I went there (one of several trips) in '97 and when he was showing me around he stumped me with some very different looking pythons he had just hatched. They were definately some Morelia type, but I couldn't place then (which was embarrassing). Finally he gave in and admitted that it was a carpet crossed with a mackloti.
I'm personally not a fan of hybridiztion at all, but it was interesting none the less. At least I know Kev has the integrity to accurately represent them to potential buyers, unlike many in the hybridizing clan out there.

My post obviously wouldn't apply to the same post in the hybrid forum (since it's pro hybridization), but this is a python forum so maybe there are more neutral or anti people here.
I've noticed a lot of people note that they are not into mutts, but when it's done by a "herp god" it's okay. Kevin may have intergrity, to honestly represent, but eventually they will fall into the hands of people who aren't. I know Kevin's not responsible (or is he, since he produced them?)but the day will come. People polluted lines of snakes, but no one seems to care when it's a $50 snake crossed with a $50 snake, there are some colubrid lines that are getting hard to verify with any certainty whether they are pure or not. Now we got another mismatched mutt ($100 snake crossed with a $700 snake). It's a shame too, such a beautiful animal in it's own right, and still worth a decent amount. Oh well, I just hope I'm not the only one who thinks this is garbage, no matter who the person is who produced them.
Unfortunately, you are absolutely right John. Once removed from Kevin and back bred a generation or two, they are bound to fall into someone's hand who is willing to mis-represent them and pawn them off as whatever is selling better. I've been around this hobby/trade long enough to know better. Thanks.

I agree, too.
I've seen that somebody has crossed Angolans with Balls. Now, if some of the offspring look like Angolans, what might someone represent them a$ when $elling them? Same thing happened with Indians and Burmese. Or JCPs and whatever kind of carpets. And when it comes to boa constrictors, seems like anything goes.
IMO, you have to go with reputable, trustworthy breeders or really do your homework when your hard-earned money is concerned. Too bad, but greed is a great motivator.
